The biogas plant is in fact the power plant for the sand drying facility on site and supplies electricity and heat to it.

 

INSTALLATION CONCEPT

Basically it is a typical biogas plant designed in two lines for reasons of variety in feedstock. The main parts are pretreatment of the feedstock, digestion, separation of the digestate, drying of the cake and the water treatment plant.

- For the pretreatment there is sufficient storage capacity to foresee in an automatic operation for the digester feeding system
- The digestion consists mainly of two steps being hydrolysis and methanisation and is built in two separate lines for reasons of availability and continuous gas production
- Separation of the digestate in view of the consecutive steps for the cake and the water fraction
- The cake is dried in several warm air driers operating on the heat of the engines
- Water is being stored and treated afterwards in order to comply with the applicable effluent parameters.

 

GENERAL DATA

Treatment capacity : 80.000 tons per year organic and sustainable feedstock (fe. maize).

Produced energy : 4 MW electrical power and 5 MW thermal capacity.

Operation : in view of permissioning the start-up is planned Q1 of 2012.
