Sleco, Beveren

The fluidized incinerator for sludge and industrial waste allows SLECO (Beveren) to process domestic waste,  industrial residues and paper, textiles, wood recovery and sludge.  The construction of the plant was started in early 2004 and mid 2006 the plant was fully operational.

Total investment is worth around 180 million euros. The new plant will create an additional employment of 35 people. The capacity of the plant will be  460.000 tonnes.

The installation consists of 3 lines oven. The plant is designed to incinerate waste within certain limits: a maximum total thermal capacity of 143 MW, a capacity of 460 000 tonnes of waste per year with a heat content of the waist mix between 7 and 15 MJ.

The plant will operate fully within the norms of the EU directive on the incineration of waste and for this all parameters. The flue gases are cleaned intensively to the strict emission requirements. Al the wastewater is reused in the plant. The rainwater from the roofs is collected and used in the process.

Trucks deliver the waste in bulk to the indoor storthal. A semi-automatic valve is responsible for mixing and feeding of the sludge silo, from which the sludg
